Thank you for joining with us to worship together through praying and singing, and through hearing and engaging with God’s Word.
Have someone lead your group in a prayer of adoration, exalting and glorifying God for who He is. You may use this prayer as a guide.
Heavenly Father, You are Sovereign King of the Universe. Your ways are higher than our ways, and Your thoughts are higher than our thoughts. How unsearchable Your judgments, and Your paths beyond tracing out. We surrender our imperfect wisdom and power to You. Open our hearts and our ears today to hear Your Word and see You rightly as the Lord of all things. Amen.
Worship: Join your group in worshipping the Lord as you watch these videos. The lyrics are on the screen. As you sing, focus on God and His glorious attributes. Sing to Him and give Him the praise He deserves.
Sermon: Listen as Pastor Carl shares a message on Psalm 23:2 and reflects on The Shepherd’s Plan. Open your heart to God’s Word and be prepared for reflection, discussion and response.
Reflect on these questions and discuss with your family, friends and/or GCG:
1. How do you feel when you reflect on the fact that God makes you do something?
2. How do you feel when you reflect on the fact that God leads you?
3. What are some things that you know you should do but often fail to take time for?
4.What are some things that get in the way of following your Shepherd? (Responsibilities, emotions, social media, hobbies, news, etc.)
Have someone pray a prayer of confession for the group. You may use this prayer as a guide:
Heavenly Father we are frail and sinful creatures who trust our own power more than Yours. We want to be the Lord of our own lives, but we fail ourselves, others, and most importantly, we fail You. Thank You Lord for sacrificially leading us by sending Your son to live perfectly and then die on the cross so that we could be made righteous through repentance and faith in Christ. You paved the way to resurrection power through the crucifixion of our sinful selves, so that you could lead us into abundant life in Your grace and mercy forever. We praise and honor Your name, Amen.
Closing Prayer: Have someone in your group close in a prayer of supplication and asking the Spirit to transform us by His grace. You may use this prayer as a guide.
Holy Spirit we ask that you change our hearts. Make us go to the green pastures and lead us to the still waters that we would learn to rest in Your goodness and grace and not on our own. Help us to call the hungry and thirsty in our lives to come and eat of the Bread and drink of the water which will satisfy them eternally.
