Thank you for joining with us to worship together through praying and singing, and through hearing and engaging with God’s Word.
Have someone lead your group in a prayer of adoration, exalting and glorifying God for who He is. You may use this prayer as a guide.
Heavenly Father, You are the Lord of heaven and earth. You created all that is above us and below us; our very life and death is in Your hands. You give and You take away according to Your perfect plan. Help us today to surrender our hearts and minds to You. As we worship You together guide us towards greater obedience of Your will, Amen.
Worship: Join your group in worshipping the Lord as you watch these videos. The lyrics are on the screen. As you sing, focus on God and His glorious attributes. Sing to Him and give Him the praise He deserves.
Sermon: Listen as Pastor Brian shares on Phil.1:19-26 and reflects on the Christ Life. Open your heart to God’s Word and be prepared for reflection, discussion and response.
Reflect on these questions and discuss with your family, friends and/or GCG:

1. Reflect on some of the ways the community of Christ has been a blessing to you when you were in need. Take a moment to pray for and then encourage someone in our church either in person or through text message.

2. Are there any areas of your life that the Holy Spirit has been revealing that God wants you to deepen your dependence on Him instead of relying on yourself?

3. Are their times in your life where you have found yourself feeling ashamed of God and His Words? Why do you think that is the case?

4. How does knowing the security of your eternity help fuel the way you currently live your earthly life? Which ditch are you prone to be in; Either too earthy minded to make and eternal difference, or too heavenly minded that you are of no earthy good? Spend some time in prayer as a group and ask God to help you grow.

Have someone pray a prayer of confession for the group. You may use this prayer as a guide:

Heavenly Father, without You we are a depraved and wicked people. We think only of ourselves and our own selfish gain. We cling to our material goods and prize them more highly than You or You Word. But Jesus You came to this earth while we were yet sinners and gave up Your life for our sake, casting aside all thoughts of self and saying “Not my will but Your will be done”. Forgive us for our sins, Lord, we are thankful eternally for Your sacrifice on our behalf. Amen.

Closing Prayer: Have someone in your group close in a prayer of supplication and asking the Spirit to transform us by His grace. You may use this prayer as a guide.

Holy Spirit, we need Your help to live in the way that Jesus did as He walked on this earth. We were promised that at the time of persecution and tribulation, You would give us the words to say. Give us the courage and strength to stand firm and unashamed of Your Gospel which is the power to save. Guide us and teach us to faithfully stand and fight the battle that is before us. Help us to live, and when the time comes, to die, for Your glory alone. In Jesus name, Amen.
